Department for a travel nursing job in Lake Jackson, Texas. Job

travelers. # beds/trauma bays 27 total beds/3 trauma bays
Do you have a Fast track 5 of 27 beds are used as fast track
Do you have a separate Triage area & do you allow/require travelers
to do Triage? Seperate/Try to avoid using travelers for triage
Do you have a separate holding area in the ER or are ER holds
intermixed w/in the ER? Intermixed / ER manages holds
Do ER RN's manage their own ER holds?
Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms? No
In-house Security Yes
# patients per day average 90 per day
Ratios 4:01
Required Certifications BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
Common diagnoses/Types of patients Abdominal pain, Sepsis,
Respiratory, Trauma
Experience or 'Must have' skills 2 years of ER experience,
preferred trauma
ED Physicians/Mid-Levels We utilize physicians, NPs, PAs
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Charge on each shift, house
supervisor available 24/7
Nurse Aids/Paramedics/Patient sitters ED techs are skill mix of
desk techs, PCAs and medics
EMR MedHost
RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Does RT do
ABG's, breathing tx, EGS's? RT does ABG and Nebs, also initiates
vents, bipaps. ED RN manages up to high flow
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Tele on
unit, No monitor tech, RN responsible for rythym interpretation and
documentation
X-Ray or CT in the ER? Transport? CT/Xray just down hall from ER.
Rad techs and ED techs transport stable patients
Phlebotomy or nurse draw Both
Shifts & Scheduling Days, Mids, Nights. Scheduling is done by
Charge Nurse to the needs of the department (paper)
Weekend Requirement Every other weekend, or 4 weekend shifts per
month
Holiday Requirement To be determined at signing of contract
Is there a call or standby requirement? No
Floating Requirements None
Scrub Color/Dress Code Navy Blue
Unit/Department specific orientation Will provide one shift of
orientation to unit after facility orientation complete
