Job Description:
VOLT has a Direct Hire opportunity for an LNG Commissioning and
Startup Engineer located in The Woodlands, TX.
The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional
skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below.
The LNG Commissioning and Startup Engineer will have significant
travel to commission and startup projects to ensure the safety and
efficiency of the startup of clients in the following industries:
LNG, Gas Processing Facilities, Air Separation Units, or other
Cryogenic Facilities.
As an LNG Commissioning and Startup Engineer you will:
Provide Process/Mechanical Engineering support for commissioning
advice and startup oversight to facilitate a safe and successful
handover of the facility to the client (includes LNG, LH2,
etc.)
Write operating manuals for Chart designed facilities based upon
engineering designs.
Participate in PID review, HAZOPs, and other design reviews as
required.
Perform Cold Box and skidded Equipment walk down activities
independently or as part of a team and prepare punch lists.
Perform P&ID plant walk down activities independently or as
part of a team and prepare punch lists.
Coordinate and lead operator trainings prior to start-up and after
commissioning activities as required.
Provide commissioning advice and guidance to ensure that all
systems and equipment are installed and tested according to project
specifications and industry standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers,
technicians, and operators, to ensure the successful implementation
of startup plans and procedures.
Provide startup oversight to ensure the plant is started up safely
and that it meets the performance criteria.
When not involved in commissioning and startup activities, perform
Process Engineering tasks that include running simulations in HYSYS
or Pro/II and generating Process deliverables that include PFD,
HMB, Datasheets, PID, Control Narratives, and Cause and
Effects.
Prepare lessons learned reports and provide feedback to the
Engineering teams.
This is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity.
Ideal candidate will have:
Able to travel 50% of the time
BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
3+ Years of Startup and Commissioning Experience in LNG, Gas
Processing Facilities, Air Separation Units, or other Cryogenic
Facilities. Prior experience being part of an operating Oil and
Gas/Chemical/Refinery facility will also be considered.
Working knowledge of commissioning, startup, operations,
procedures, and best practices.
Prior experience in developing and implementing startup plans,
procedures, and checklists.
Working experience in using Process Simulation software, such as
ASPEN+, HYSYS, Unisim, Pro/II, etc. is a plus.
Some working knowledge of common engineering practices and
Industrial codes including ANSI B31.3 piping code, ASME Section
VIII pressure vessel code and other related codes and standards of
ANSI, ASME, ASTM, CGA, ALPEMA, API, IEC, NACE, NEC and NFPA.
Salary Range: $150,000 per year base + travel pay to around
$200,000 per year
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on
several factors, including the candidate's education, work
experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications,
etc.
